University of Chicago | Booth School of Business
I am currently a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in accounting, Ernest R. Wish Research Fellow, and Bradley Fellow at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. I received a master of accounting (with high distinction) from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and a bachelor of science in mathematical economics (actuarial science) with a minor in finance (summa cum laude) from Western Kentucky University's Gordon Ford College of Business. I am also a licensed CPA in the state of Tennessee.
My current research focuses on the role that accounting, corporate regulation, and institutions play in the global economy, with a particular focus on developing countries. My job market paper explores the value of information sharing between international affiliates of global accounting firms. In developing economies, my research broadly explores how corporations can take on a governance role when local institutions are weak, and how accounting and disclosure support such a role. In developed economies, my research centers around how bank and corporate misconduct influence the financial decision-making of local stakeholders.
Outside of academics, I enjoy playing the piano, for which I won the Kentucky Bluegrass State Championship in 2019. I also serve as the Mandarin choir director for Chinese Christian Union Church in Chinatown. Additionally, I play tennis in my spare time.
